The Fund characterizes itself as a longer-term investor based on specific performance goals it believes create substantial value for the company and the Fund. It believes this value is principally created through a "partnership type" arrangement between the Fund and the company with significant emphasis on collaborative strategic planning and effective building of the management team (if necessary) and financial and operational excellence.
Bill Newlin prefers a close relationship with at least the chief executive officer based on a rapport between them that promotes a seamless relationship of advice and discussion, recognizing that the ultimate answers, direction and execution must come from management.
The Fund will want either an advisory or board role to follow its investment.
Bill has served on over 30 boards of directors, from companies ranging from start up to growth to mature, including both private and public concerns. He has chaired both start up companies and New York Stock Exchange companies. This does not mean he seeks such a role in any given investment.
